Himachal Pradesh is known as land of beautiful hill stations. There are many holiday destinations to visit over here like Manali, Dalhousie, Shimla, Chamba and many more to see. The valley has got amazing landscapes and exotic beauty. The one destination I truly enjoyed was Dalhousie.
A hill station that is truly known for its natural beauty and fantastic landscape. This place was discovered by the British Empire in 1854 and it was named after Lord Dalhousie who was the British Viceroy at that time in India. Dalhousie is situated at 6000-9000 feet above the sea level. It is spread over the five hills and it is located on the Dhauladhar mountain range of the Himalayas.
It is famous tourist place in Himachal. The travelers enjoy watching beautiful scenery of snow-capped peaks. You can discover amazing Scottish and Victorian architecture bungalows and churches in the town. This hill station has got some major attractions to see like Dainkund Peak, Khajjiar, Bakrota Hills, Gandhi Chowk, Dalhousie Cantonment, Tibetan Market and much more.
Most visited place in Dalhousie is Khajjiar. It is also known has Mini Switzerland of India. This place is surrounded by green meadows and dense forests. It is about 6500 feet above the sea level. It is also part of the Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary. You find a small lake over here in the middle that has been covered over with weeds.
The travelers can enjoy walking down thick pine forests or they can enjoy taking walk around the lakes. This spot is best place for children’s as they can enjoy playing in the open space with great freedom. Horse riding is another attraction over here. You can also find Khajjinag temple over here. The structure of the temple has been wonderfully carved from wood. This temple is dedicated to Naga (snake) worship.
To reach Khajjiar you either take private or rented vehicles or bus service from Dalhousie. Best season to visit this hill station is from May to September.
Himachal has indeed got some beautiful places to explore. Every year this state witness millions of tourist from all over the world. I can say come and explore the hidden beauty of this land.
