Parvati Valley a Great Holiday Destination

Recently I had visited a beautiful place in Himachal Pradesh, Parvati Valley. It is such a wonderful place to visit. The valley is famous for its natural beauty, amazing landscapes, adventurous trekking trails and much more.

Parvati River is the tributary of Beas that runs in the middle of the valley and that is why it is called as Parvati Valley.  It is 90 km in length and spreads in between Bhuntar and Soma Pass. It is surrounded with dense ever green forest and snow peaked mountains. This valley is also known has Rupi Valley as it had silver mines located about 4 km from Manikaran near Uchich village and also in some parts.

Here I visited some amazing places that not only gave me fantastic experience but got me close to Mother Nature. Kasol known for its charming beauty attracts lot of foreign tourists every year. Kasol is elevated at 5,380 Ft. above the sea level. In recent time this destination has become a hub of backpackers. It is also the base of treks in Himachal. There are few trekking trails that adventures lovers would love to explore are SarPass, Pin Parvati Pass and Yankar Pass.

One shouldn’t be surprise if they see Hebrew language banners across the valley as a lot of Israel tourist visit this place on regular basis. Local charas or hashish which is grown widely throughout the valley is also another main reason of heavy rush of foreigners in Kasol.

From Kasol I ahead towards Manikaran, a famous pilgrimage center of Hindu and Sikh. The main Manikaran is situated on the right bank of river Parvati River. On the left bank there are small bazar and bus stand. There bridge connected to the right bank but vehicles are not allowed, the visitors have cross the bridge by walking. Below the bridge we find river Parvati flowing at very fast speed. We can find rising hills all around Manikaran with green forests near the peaks.

It is also popular for hot water spring. Every year millions of tourists take dip in holy hot waters. A very interesting myth is associated with the hot spring and one can hear it from the local priest over here. I visited the famous gurudwara and other temples nearby. Thousands of devotees both Hindu and Sikh visit this place every year. I truly had wonderful spiritual experience over here.

My next destination was Malana, an ancient village that is isolated from the rest of the world. The village is located on a remote plateau by the side of Malana River at a height of 9,938 Ft. above the sea level. The village has its own lifestyle and strict customs.

It is also known for traditional democratic set up. This is the only village in the entire India that has its own local self-government that has its own set of rules and regulation. The local worship god Jamloo and all the things are done in his name.

Malana has got amazing trekking trails. The trekkers can definitely enjoy the thrilling experience over here. The trekking route is very adventurous. It has got splendid natural beauty and one can also see two majestic peaks of Chandrakhani and Deotibba from the village. People of Malana have their own culture, customs and religious beliefs.  This village made me feels that I am in a different land.

I can truly say that Parvati Valley is truly an amazing Tourist Place in Himachal. It not only has famous Historical temples but also marvelous trekking trails to explore.
